TO MY FANS...
In the 20 years that I have been making movies, I have received more fanmail than any of you can imagine. In the first 6 months after Shaolin Temple alone, I received 100,000 letters; my house was inundated with sacks of mail and we had no room to move around. I wanted to thank everybody individually, but I soon realized that there was no way to answer every letter. Such an attempt would take up every waking hour and it would be impossible for me to continue making movies.
The release of Lethal Weapon 4 brought me letters from new fans all over the world - all of them with new demands.
Although I don't know much about computers, I am grateful that Internet technology makes it possible finally for me to let all of my fans know how much I appreciate them. The gifts are not necessary; your support has always been enough for me.
To everybody who has ever sent me anything, I thank you from my heart. The only thing I can give you in return is my hard work.
My assistants and I are very busy right now with production for Romeo Must Die, not to mention making sure that this website is updated regularly. I hope you can understand how difficult it is for me to strike a balance between interacting with my fans and focusing on the movies that my fans clamor for. If you send a card or a letter, it will be read, but please do not panic or fret if you do not receive a personal response. Patience is also a wonderful gift.
